Wireless Security System

A wireless security system is just a security system that with no wires attached. All of the wireless alarm system devices such as the keypad, motion detectors, window contacts and door sensors are not wired to the master alarm control panel, thus making it easier for installation, maintenance and service repair. They rely on radio waves that are sent to each device in order to communicate to the alarm panel.

Generally, it cost more to purchase a wireless security system while it is less expensive for installation, maintenance and repair.  Since there is no wires to run or holes to drill, it is quicker and less messy to accomplish.  Also, a wireless home alarm system does not take the technical expertise for installation or servicing.  Most end users can easily install, maintain and service most wireless alarm systems on the market today.  With the technical advances, this is becoming easier and easier with each new model.

Most wireless security systems are less prone to service and maintenance issues that traditional hard wired alarm systems require.  The master alarm control panel polls each device and displays any error or problem with its function.  It basically diagnoses itself and lets you know what to do.

One of the disadvantages of a wireless home alarm system is the fact that each device requires separate batteries for operation.  Unlike hardwired security system devices that are powered by wires leading to the alarm panel, wireless security alarms only receive their power from the batteries in each unit.  Do not worry though, if the battery becomes low, the alarm system control panel alerts you with the actual device in question.

In conclusion, modern technology has made it possible for the end user to install, maintain, service and monitor their own personal wireless alarm system without the expense and long term contracts of the national alarm system companies.
