What does the FREE security system really cost me?

Most alarm system companies are promoting the “free home alarm system” for anyone in need.  While everyone likes things that are free, all things are not created equal.  Yes, you can receive a “free home security system” but if you want the protection that you really need, its not totally free. 

You have to pay for the activation or installation fee that can range from $49 to over $500 depending on the options you choose.  Since it is only the basic security alarm system, you only get the minimum protection and that is usually not enough.  You also are required to sign a 36 month alarm monitoring contract for an average of $30 per month.  If you desire a free wireless security system, then it can be even more.  Here is what you get for what you are not supposed to be paying for in the first place.

Just because it may not end of being totally free does not mean it is not important.  Protecting your property and family is one of the most vital decisions that you can make.  By the time its said and done, a home security system is the best investment.
