Security System Keypad

An alarm keypad is the main interface to any home alarm system that allows you to operate all of the features and programming.  Usually, the alarm keypad operates using buttons and numeric codes to arm and disarm your home alarm system.  It is also used to verify that all device zones are clear of troubles and operational.

The security system keypad reports any troubles within the system such as an open zone or backup battery status.  Most alarm keypads provide a panic button that is located at the bottom of the keypad.  When triggered, the panic button can be programmed to contact your home monitoring center, police, fire or an ambulance.
Due to the fact that the alarm keypad is the most used device on your home security system, the placement of it should be at a location that is easily accessed from the entry point.  If some cases, you may prefer to have multiple security system keypads installed at the back door, garage and master bedroom.
