Glass Break Detector   Glass Break Sensor

Glass Break Detector

Your home is still vulnerable to an intruder even if you have your doors and windows protected by contact sensors.  If an intruder enters your home by shattering your window, the glass will make noise but it will not trigger your security system.  With this in mind, it is very important that you install a glass break detector and shock sensor to complete your home security protection.  Using such devices increase the overall security to your home and family.

Glass Break Detection

Glass break detectors are designed in such a way to detect the shattering of glass.  A glass break detector is acoustic and operates on high pitch sound while a shock sensor uses vibration to detect the breaking glass.  A glass break sensor can be installed on both a hardwired security system and a wireless security system.  The glass break detector mounts on the wall or ceiling that listens to the programmed surrounding area for a minium of 20 feet in any direction so one glass sensor can protect multiple windows at a time.
Glass Break Sensor
While glass break detectors are sensitive, it should be noted that a glass break detector will not listen through a wall or around a corner.  Be sure the check the design and specifications of any glass break sensor you install.  Also ensure that the placement of the glass break sensors offers the most effective coverage.
