Window Sensor and Door Sensor

Door Sensor | Window Sensor

Every home alarm system is equipped with a contact sensors on the doors and windows.  A door sensor or window sensor is the electronic contact switches installed on every door or window of your home.  Each contact sensor operate with a magnetic open or closure mechanism that sends a trouble when the circuit is broken. If the security system is in the "armed" status, the alarm will be triggered as an intrusion.

Door Sensor
If you require the best protection possible it is necessary to install window and door sensors on every opening with your home security alarm.  If you prefer a more cost effective solution, you can install sensor switches on the front and rear doors and utilize motion detectors for the windows.  Although this less protection, it save a considerable amount of expense associated with wiring each window or door.

Window Sensor

When the security alarm system is armed, the master control panel monitors the contacts to closure and triggers an alarm when the circut is broken.  Your keypad also monitors the contacts to ensure all covered devices are closed and properly set before you can arm the security system.  If any contact is open or faulty, you security system keypad will alert you of the offending zone and keep your from arming the system.   If some cases you might need to bypass a certain zone to set your system untl repairs can be made.
