Alarm Control Panel

A burglar alarm control panel is the wall mounted alarm unit that connects all of the security system devices back to one central location for processing.  These include devices such as motion detectors, smoke detectors, window sensors and door sensors.  The burglar alarm control panel is usually installed in a utility closet or master bedroom closet. 



Modern alarm panels are the main central processing unit for the home security system.  It is also the alarm device that stores all of the programming information that controls the various attached devices.  The alarm panel houses the backup battery system that powers the system in the event of power failure.  In the event of a trigger alarm, the security control panel seizes the telephone line and transmits the alarm information to the security monitoring center.
